The breakwaters and harbour walls around Peel Castle produce bass, wrasse, dogfish, pollock and coalfish to bottom-fished baits, mostly fishing best around high tide. Mackerel, pollock and coalfish also respond well to lures worked off the walls during the summer months, and conger eels are a night-time prospect on big baits. The beaches either side of the harbour add flatfish and bass for anglers fishing the sand.
