Privacy Policy
Who we are
Fishing Spots (fishingspots.org.uk) is operated by NordSys Limited, a UK company. You can reach us at hello@fishingspots.org.uk with any privacy question or request.
What we collect
Content you submit: If you add a fishing spot, leave a comment, or submit a catch photo for identification, we store what you provide (spot details, comment text, photo, any email address you choose to include) so we can review and, if approved, publish it. Submissions are moderated manually before appearing publicly.
Website statistics
We count visits to this site, for statistics only, using our own counting tool. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. For each page view it records the page, the site you came from, any campaign label in the link you used, your country (approximate) and whether the visitor looks like a person or a robot. To count unique visitors it uses an identifier. We do not share this data with anyone except our hosting provider, which stores it on our behalf. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If you click 'Don't count my visits' in the footer, we remember your choice in this browser with one small local-storage flag called na_ignore; our counter stores nothing else in your browser. You can object at any time using the link in the footer, or contact us at hello@fishingspots.org.uk. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our site.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies for advertising or tracking. Our visit counter (see Website statistics) sets no cookies either.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used. Email hello@fishingspots.org.uk and we'll respond within a reasonable time. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Third parties
We use OpenStreetMap (map tiles and location data) as described elsewhere on the site. We don't sell your data to anyone.
