Gravesend sits opposite Tilbury at one of the widest points of the tidal Thames, giving a genuine mix of species across the seasons. Mullet are worth targeting specifically in calm, warm spells, when they come in close along the pier and riverfront.

Sea fishing needs no rod licence anywhere in the UK - shore, boat or wreck marks are all licence-free.
