Caithness - Dunnet Beach
FreeA wide, easily accessible sweep of sand on Dunnet Bay near Thurso, giving a straightforward mix of bass, flatfish, cod and whiting depending on the season. A good option if you want an open, no-scramble beach mark on this stretch of the north coast rather than one of the rockier venues nearby.

Bass respond well to peeler crab and ragworm, and will also take lures and spinners. Flatfish are a year-round prospect on the sand, with cod and whiting the winter target.
