Sorel Point
FreeA dramatic rocky headland on Jersey's north coast, with deep water close to the ledges and a genuine mixed bag on offer. Mackerel and pollock respond to lures worked from the rocks, bass patrol the same broken ground, wrasse come to bait fished tight to the structure, and the deeper water off the point holds dogfish, bull huss, rays and conger for anglers prepared to fish bigger tackle.
Access: Free shore access from the headland, no rod licence needed for sea fishing
Parking: Car park at Sorel Point, short walk out onto the headland

Feathers, daylights and spinners fished off the rocks take mackerel, while larger spinners and soft plastic lures work for pollock and bass among the ledges. Crab and fish strips fished tight to the structure account for wrasse. For conger, step up to heavy shore fishing rods with mackerel, herring or squid on size 6/0-8/0 hooks fished hard into the deep water off the point.
