A pretty stone harbour in the Kirkcaldy area, mackerel thick in summer and cod through the winter on peeler crab, squid, mussel and worm, with wrasse and flounder in the mix too. Autumn is flagged as the best shot at a big specimen.

Peeler crab, squid, mussel and worm baits all work well through the winter for cod, while summer brings mackerel in numbers plus wrasse and flounder. Autumn is the best time to try for a genuinely big specimen.

Sea fishing needs no rod licence anywhere in the UK - shore, boat or wreck marks are all licence-free.
