Brighouse Bay

A sheltered Galloway bay that mixes rock and sand marks, giving you a genuine shot at pollock on lures off the rocky ground and a spread of flatfish on worm and crab bait over the sandier stretches. Peeler crab is the standout bait here, and it's the one worth carrying if you're chasing the bay's bonus fish, a bass.

Fish lures around the rockier ground for pollock, and switch to worm or crab bait over sand for a mixed flatfish bag. Peeler crab is the bait to have in your bag if you're specifically after the bay's bass.

Sea fishing needs no rod licence anywhere in the UK - shore, boat or wreck marks are all licence-free.
