Loch of Skene
Day ticketA lowland loch about 9 miles west of Aberdeen, partly man-made by a dam at its outflow, once used for milling and hydro power. Holds pike and is fished under permit; also protected for its wintering wildfowl.
Access: Permit required locally for fishing
Species you can expect
| Species | Best season |
|---|---|
| Pike | Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter |
Scotland has no national rod licence for coarse or trout fishing — you just need the landowner's or fishery's permission (a day ticket or club permit does this).
