Cloughton Wyke is a rock mark and should be fished with strong tackle, with rigs using weak link releases (rotten bottoms) advisable. Getting to some of the fishing points can mean a long walk, and anglers run the risk of being cut off by the incoming tide, so keep an eye on it. Cod come in winter and can reach good sizes. Pollock take from the rocks in summer along with mackerel, and there is a chance of a wrasse. Many anglers find the mark fishes best over high tide. Deep water is close in, so there is no need for long casting. The bay sits between the Iron Scar and Hundale Point promontories. The map pin is on the bay.

Sea fishing needs no rod licence anywhere in the UK - shore, boat or wreck marks are all licence-free.
