Putney Embankment
FreeThe embankment by Putney Bridge, start/finish point of the Boat Race and one of the better-known open stretches of the tidal Thames in London for bank fishing. The tideway here holds pike, perch and, on the right tides given the brackish influence this far up, occasional mullet and bass alongside the usual roach and dace.
Access: Free bank fishing, no ticket required. EA rod licence required (England freshwater)
Parking: Putney town centre car parks and side streets near the bridge; Putney mainline and East Putney tube are both close by.
