Ham Lands Nature Reserve, Teddington/Ham
FreeA long nature reserve stretch on the tidal Thames just downstream of Teddington Lock, where the standard coarse season applies and no permit is needed. The towpath here is described as largely remote from roads, giving quiet swims for roach, dace, bream and pike.
Access: Free bank fishing, no ticket required. EA rod licence required (England freshwater)
Parking: Riverside Drive near Teddington Lock, or side roads off Locksmeade Road.

Tidal reach starts at Teddington Lock just upstream. Locally recommended tactic is to bait up as the tide comes in and fish over it while the swim is covered - many swims here only fish well around high water.
