Cholmondeley Walk, Richmond riverside
FreeTown-centre riverside walk in Richmond, just below Richmond Lock on the tidal Thames. A free stretch fished for roach, bream and dace, with reports of decent bags and bream to several pounds; the tide runs hard here so many anglers fish the mudflats at low water or leger through the flood.
Access: Free bank fishing, no ticket required. EA rod licence required (England freshwater)
Parking: Richmond town car parks nearby are pay-and-display (no free parking or exemption in the CPZ).

Below Richmond Lock the tidal flow is strong and levels move fast - trotting suits low tide, legering suits the higher water.
